How To Make Mary Berry Lasagne Express
- Prepare the Dish: Preheat your oven to 200°C/180°C fan/Gas 6. Grease a 2.25-litre (4-pint) ovenproof dish (approximately 30 × 20 × 6cm / 12 × 8 × 2½in) with butter.
- Soften Lasagne Sheets: Soak the dried lasagne sheets in recently boiled warm water until they soften, while you make the sauces.
- Cook Pork and Spinach Sauce: Heat oil in a large non-stick frying pan. Add the sausage meat and cook over high heat for 5–10 minutes until browned. Sprinkle in the flour and cook for 1 minute. Add the chilli, garlic, and mushrooms, cooking for about 5 minutes. Stir in the crème fraîche and spinach, bring to a boil, and cook for a couple of minutes. - Make Tomato Sauce: In a jug or bowl, mix the passata, sun-dried tomato paste, light muscovado sugar, thyme, and sage. Season with salt and pepper.
- Assemble the Lasagne: Drain the lasagne sheets. Layer one-third of the pork and spinach sauce in the base of the prepared dish. Top with one-third of the tomato sauce and half of the pasta sheets. Repeat with two more layers of pork and spinach sauce, tomato sauce, and pasta sheets. Sprinkle the grated Cheddar cheese over the top.
